Emmanuel Brilakis is an Orthopaedic Surgeon.

He was born in Piraeus in 1976 and graduated from the Multisectoral Lyceum of Piraeus in 1993. In 1994 he entered with Panhellenic Exams the Department of Radiology of the Technological Educational Institute of Athens, from which he graduated with a grade of “very good” in 1998.

Then, he passed qualifying examinations of the Medical School of the University of Athens, and graduated in 2003 with a grade of “very good”.

In order to complete the 6-years’ education for obtaining his specialization, he worked in the Second Orthopedic Clinic of the University of Athens in “Konstantopoulio” General Hospital in Nea Ionia. During this time, he was trained in all sectors of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, particularly in arthroscopic and reconstructive adult surgery. He has also been trained in microsurgery and surgery of the upper limb while he worked for more than a year in the First Orthopedic Clinic of General Children Hospital “P. and A. Kyriakou”.

He holds a Master’s Degree of the National University of Athens on “Metabolic Diseases of the Bones” with special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of Osteoporosis. Moreover, he is a Ph.D. candidate at the National University of Athens, with field of study on the biomechanics of surgery of hallux valgus of the foot.

On October 2016, he was elected as a member of the Management Board of “Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology”.

He has co-authored chapters in foreign language and Greek books, he has published articles in international and Greek journals, he has presented scientific papers in international and Greek conferences and he has participated in the organization of orthopedic conferences and seminars. Furthermore, he is a reviewer of international journals and participates actively in Greek and international seminars.
